St. Lawrence University partners with WellSort to support student wellbeing through the SLU Thrives initiative

We're delighted to announce that St. Lawrence University (SLU) is our newest WellSort campus partner!

Starting this fall, SLU is integrating WellSort into SLU Thrives, the university's holistic, campus-wide initiative for student wellbeing. SLU Thrives connects wellbeing with every part of the student experience - from academics and career development to mental health, financial literacy, and campus traditions - helping students set goals, find the right resources at the right time, and make intentional choices for their personal growth.

WellSort is a natural fit for this vision. Customized to reflect the SLU Thrives wellness dimensions and branding, the platform gives students a seamless, hands-on way to reflect on their priorities, name what wellbeing means to them, connect directly with resources, and take ownership of their journey - echoing the university's own "Thrive Like a Saint" spirit.

Laura Lavoie, Director of Wellness Education at SLU shares:

“I’m thrilled that St. Lawrence University has been able to partner with WellSort. It’s such a thoughtful tool for helping students identify the SLU Thrives dimensions they want to prioritize and it feeds seamlessly into the work we’re already doing. Students can use WellSort to set goals, discover resources on campus that can support those goals, and even take it a step further by finding campus events that connect to the priorities they’ve identified. And the alumni connection is especially wonderful. It’s another great example of the many ways our students can connect with and benefit from our incredible St. Lawrence alumni network.”

This collaboration feels especially meaningful, since both WellSort co-founders are proud St. Lawrence alumni and are thrilled to support the mental health and wellbeing of students at their alma mater. It truly is a full-circle moment — the campus that shaped who they are can now lean on something they built to help students navigate who they're becoming.

WellSort founder Anush Hansen explains:

"This partnership feels incredibly personal to me. My time at St. Lawrence is where my own mental health journey started, after the loss of a high school friend to suicide my sophomore year. When my lacrosse coach saw me struggling, she strongly encouraged me to visit the counseling center. I had never seen a counselor before — that was really the first time I ever paid close attention to my own mental health needs and actually did something about it. I have no doubt the experience helped shape my path to becoming a mental health counselor in higher ed, eventually leading to the framework that would later become WellSort. I'll always be grateful for the support and care I received at SLU, and am so happy to be able to help support current students with WellSort."

Co-founder Tim Seavey adds:

"There's something really special about bringing WellSort back to SLU, a place that had such an impact on both of us. It's incredibly rewarding to know that we're helping current students find their own pathway to greater wellbeing.”
